I had a the wonderful opportunity to shoot at Ottawa's Fairmont Chateau Laurier for Edible Ottawa Magazine. The task: create a collection of images that illustrate the head Chef’s inventive and unconventional use of Tea in savoury dishes. Our shot list included Portraits, food shots, interiors, exteriors, and candids. By pitching my camera up 12 feet on a boom we were able to capture all the dishes in a styled table setting. The result was a hero image, almost like an abstract painting, busy yet organized, impactful, yet full of subtletiesies.
It was a treat to be to able to spend a few hours with my crew in the historic building, seeing the ins and outs and touring the sprawling network that’s unseen by guests.
